After initial problems due to our version of windows, during which talking bookstore was really helpful and on the ball, it has worked really well.

We are now going on to the next level.

As a first time user of Talking Book Store, I purchased a Pimsleur complete language set which was a very large download and a lot of work to write to Audio CD.

When trying to work with it in Microsft Media Player I experienced a number of problems and I logged a support request which was answered within an hour the same day (a Saturday) which solved the problem (the problem was a Microsoft one not a Talking Books one).

It was very comforting to find such excellent support and made the experience well worth while.

Since finding the Talking Book Store I've downloaded and enjoyed Shakespeare's Sonnets and Plato's  Republic .

On my listening list there's Robert Powell reading the history of classical music, an account of the trial and death of Socrates, and  River Out of Eden read by Richard Dawkins himself.

On my download list there's the Iliad the Odyssey and the Aeneid abridged versions first, maybe the full versions later.

I originally sought out audio books to fill my MP3 player to tide me over long, horrible flights - but even before I've taken those dreaded airplane rides, I'm treating myself at home to high-resolution versions of Talking Book Store's offerings.
